Sorting through piles of papers to decide what to keep and what to dispose of, donate, or give away I ran into a highly deteriorated copy of the Saturday June 3, 1905 Collier's The National Weekly. I wanted to share part of it while is was still readable.
Here are three pictures and a short cut-line about a tornado that hit Snyder on May 10, 1905.
125 people were killed in the cyclone.

Walter Clore, the the Father of Washington Wine was born some six years later out thataway. Dunno if it was the twisting winds, but the ol teetotaling strict Methodist Okie made quite a name for himself up our way....
I thinks it's cool that you still have that, and it is still legible enough to be copied.
I have to be more faithful coming over here to visit, LBJ. It's a nice refresher from my usual fair. Plus, I really enjoy your walkabouts and such. Am jealous of them. Maybe someday when I'm old and Lisa is retired . . .

Ha! Don't wait too long or you'll find the "walkabouts" are more like "shuffle abouts" and can only last as long as your knees can support you.
For the history buffs several articles regarding Snyder's tornado can be found here:
