The Oklahoma Abode

Next Year my home will be 100 years old.  Oklahoma City says it was built in 1923, but that was the year the land it was on was plated for the city.  It is a good home.  Use to have a stable out back. Found a collection  of old horse shoes and rusted hoof knife with a bone handle there.

Raise a passel of kids here.  Three of mine and a couple or three that just showed up.  No we are getting down the road a mite and are preparing for mobility for now and later.

One my favorite places in the house is my stairs to the second story.  They may be the steepest of stairs just before you have to classify them as a ladder.

It is full of books and stuff in a series of shelves and nooks built on one side.  I've got some Doctor Who displays in shadow boxes here as well as other things

I house my beer shadow boxes here as well as the others.  Some beers just beg to be displayed.

It is also the way station for items headed upstairs.  I try to be frugal these days in the number of trips up and down that I make.  So I pile stuff up to take as I go.

I have to confess as to the.....eclectic....make up of this here.  Some things, most thing are not...serious.

These are progenitors Bertha and Hubert. First where they lived during the first year of marriage as dad work two shift as foreman to a road build crew in Texas. the other is 40 years latter.

peyote rattle...a part of a ceremonial bis skull.... some Taos pottery....an old Wilbur Chocolate Company candy holder shaped like a RR lantern,,..and coke cans.....and a pottery oil lamp from Jordan.

Prominent stuff here emu eggs...large sand dollar....mother-in-law as a young woman...and a blue on white plate from the 1903 Lewis and Clark Exposition in San Francisco.

Just junk here

Top of the stairs there is a 15 star flag....two clay pipe collections and my wife topless  in a swing

Now these are from my Limbo room where I spend lots of time.

Some of my old abode.  Some of the parts I like best. More later maybe.

I think I always imagined your home would look like this in some way. I expect it has a homey aroma as well as this comfy look to it.

I like collectors.

Thank you for sharing.
