It Is Time For Rational America To Cut its Losses (updated)

It is time for rational America and Americans to cut their losses. I've recently blogged about kicking Newsweek out of my house, and declining any further support for Higher Education until it reforms. There will many more things I personally intend to do to cut my losses.

America as a Nation should start doing similar things. Let's start with Israel. Cut it loose. Let them kill each other until all of the Community of Nations decide to do something about it. Shit people, we did that for Uganda and Cambodia why not Israel? I know, I know, Uganda was Black and Cambodia was Yellow and Israel is White. But if we do this now we won't have to do it later. I mean, do you think the White Zionist Lobby will have the same power in 2050 when there will be no more White majority among American voters? That would be a bad bet.

It is obvious that the Israeli nut jobs in charge there now are aligned with the American nut jobs who want to be in charge here, and behind it all is the shadow of bigotry.

So we try a peace mission to Israel. What Happens?

We send the VP Joe Biden over and he gets the Palestinian President to agree to talk with Israel.
The rest is detailed in this Daily Beast Article.

Then:
"The day before he showed up, Israel’s right-wing Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu appeared onstage with Pastor John Hagee in Jerusalem. Hagee, of course, is the right-wing Christian evangelical leader who thought New Orleans got what it had coming to it with Katrina, and is dead-set against any kind of peace settlement that recognizes Palestinian statehood. “If America puts pressure on Israel to divide Jerusalem, we are following the blueprint of the Prince of Darkness,” Hagee has said. “Amos 3:2 states that any nation that divides the Land of Israel will come under the severe judgment of God.”"

And then:

"The following day, before Biden arrived, the Israeli government announced approval for 112 new homes in Beitar Illit, an ultra-Orthodox settlement near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, despite having agreed in November to curb settlement growth in partial fulfillment of Israel’s obligations under the Bush administration road map. But that was just a warm-up, apparently, for the announcement later in the day by the Jerusalem District Planning Committee that it had authorized the construction of 1,600 units in Ramat Shlomo, an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood north of downtown Jerusalem."

Yes, all of this was planned and deliberate:

"Why were the Israelis so intent on insulting the visiting vice president? Plenty of reasons, undoubtedly—some big, some small. Obama is unpopular in Israel. Netanyahu wants to shore up his support with his right-wing coalition. The argument over Iran is real and has no obvious solution. But the real reason Israel is acting against its own self-interest, insulting its strongest supporter, refusing to honor the commitments it made not only to the United States but to all four members of “the Quartet,” and refusing to face up to the situation it has created for itself is that its leaders have decided that peace is off the table."

So Peace is off the table? So be it. Let them follow through on their own then.
Let us simply back off.
Stop giving Israel those trillions of dollars.
No more tax dollars for that lost cause.
Let them have their preferred radical Oligarchical Police State and they solve their own problems.
The Israel we have stood behind and help saved for mankind since 1949 is not there any more, indeed if it ever was. No this current Israel is a self constructed ghetto of multiple faceted hate and bigotry.
Let Israel heal itself.
We can't do for them.
The Israelis have to do it on their own or go completely insane trying.
Let's cut our losses and back away.

I know, I don't understand all there is to understand. Well that's what I was told back 43 years ago when Israel intentionally blasted the hell out of the USS Liberty and murdered a bunch of...lets call them my like type colleagues. I knew more than I wanted to then, the same as I do now. Wake up America and cut your losses.

Update:

Sun Mar 14, 11:07 am ET
WASHINGTON (AFP) – "Israel's announcement of plans to build 1,600 settler homes in east Jerusalem was not only an "insult" to the United States but "destructive" of the Middle East peace process, a top White House official said Sunday.
"This was an affront, it was an insult but most importantly it undermined this very fragile effort to bring peace to that region," said David Axelrod, one of President Barack Obama's closest advisers.
"We have just started proximity talks, that is shuttle diplomacy, between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and for this announcement to come at that time was very destructive," he said on NBC television's Meet the Press show."

So maybe it has started.
Maybe Israel will understand it has to give to get. Maybe Palistine will too.

The religious right simply cannot understand that even though they
strongly 'support' Israel, American Jews vote 80% Democrat.
Kind of a no-brainer, really..Jews
have been persecuted by the religious right for millenia, and they trust Hagee about as far as they trusted Adolf. IMO, if we hand out $$$ anyplace, seems logical to attach some strings...

The solution to Israel's position in the Middle East is a loose/loose situation. The world will be graced if this ends with Tit-for-Tat and nothing more.

South Africa and Northern Ireland have begun to heal and I never thought that would happen. Jordon and Syria are the real keys to a solution, but Israel doesn't seem to want one. They are counting on the collective guilt of the world to back them up. Guess what, that generation of guilt is long gone.

Hagee knows religion much better than me, but Amos 3:2 reads,
"You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities." ..another one of the prophets admonishing the chosen tribe, IMHO. What is the theological construct that results in:
“Amos 3:2 states that any nation that divides the Land of Israel will come under the severe judgment of God.” ?

Hagee may know HIS religion better than you, but apparently he can't read the Bible without adding meaning to it. Actually he is fond of quoting Scofield's 1843 commentary of the Bible as part of the scripture. I know what he is doing cause I was raised that way.

drlobojo, I've always figured we've poured far too much money down that particular rat hole. Every time I write about Israel, there's always some nut job who comes along and posts something, either that I'm secretly on their (anti-Semitic) side, or that I (unlike them) am both a non-Christian and an anti-Semite.

Ugh.

I completely agree, though. Enough is enough.

Thank God for their arrogant stupidities.

BB what Texas has done is to kill school textbooks. California will not buy textbooks for the next five years. So they will not be there to counter balance Texas with the publishers as it normally is. But Texas' choices will be unacceptable to 90%
of the solvent States actually buying textbooks this time so the publishers can't do what they normally do and follow the Calif/ Texas lead.
If they do just folloe Texas they will only have warehouses full of dead trees upon which they will have to pay the Regan book taxes.

What's next? Print as you go text for each State? State printed text? A Kindle in every desk? No textbooks at all? A pulp comic for each subject?

Then the textbooks at college will be next. They are now outdated before they are purchased and way too expensive.

What Texas has done is place the last burdensome straw on the textbook companies backs. No textbooks and damn good riddance.

They will also get a Democrat elected Govenor. Most Texans aren't as stupid as their leaders think they are. Besides Texas is less than a decade away from having no majority race voters.

Demographics and Geography usually end up calling the last shot.

I love excess, it is so purging.

GKS I figured I would attract some of those myself doing this blog.
The red heifer fundamentalist in America are fallen out of favor with the Republicans I hear. The Republicans have embraced the Tea-Party types which do not seem to have those "social issues" like the God crowd. So Hagee, FOTF, etc. may not be there to help rebuild the Temple after all.

Oh goodness, both parties fall fall over themselves to demonstrate who is the better friend of Israel.

There's a very simple solution that doesn't even require America to act rationally or the appearance of levitating unkosher unhalal animals: the EU declares that settlers beyond the borders of 1967 are war criminals for participating in the move of civilian populations into areas occupied by conquest and not recognized as being part of their country. They are subject to arrest if the enter Europe. The EU-based assets of dual citizens settlers are subject to civil lawsuits. Israel then has an actual reason to negotiate to legitimize some of the settlements since they are not going to return exactly to 1967 boundaries in any case. the Palestinians have a reason to negotiate because israel has to offer something acceptable, and the simply absence of Israeli settlers doesn't give them control - it just assures that Israel can't create facts on the ground other than the military. America can continue to concentrate on waging war on its own middle class, with their consent, and everybody lives happily ever after.

TS, America has one joker to play in this game. The dozen or so of mass graves of the Egyptian Military prisoners who were murdered by Israel in the Sinai in 1967. The whole affair was capture in radio transmissions by an U.S. Air Force Security Service Signal Intelligence C-119 flying over the Red Sea. The Israelis heard the "Critic" alerting President Johnson to the act and thought that it came from the USS Liberty which they then tried to sink.

The above is now public knowledge but the documentation is still classified.
