God Is A Bore And Faith Is A Farce

This morning at the National Prayer Breakfast (traditionally attend by the new President) there was a correlated effort among the ministers, priest, rabbis, and mullahs to give a united message that the common ground of all these faiths is the two concepts:

1. Love God
2. Love your Neighbor as you would love yourself

It was a magnificent accomplishment.

report:http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/01/21/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry4743183.shtml

The prayer message was delivered by a woman and the "clergy" contained a muslim, both were major "First" that went almost totally unreported.

As for the message of common faith and ethics, it was simply ignored by the press and the media. Well that is not entirely true, the local press out in the Bible Belt and in papers with "Religion Editors" covered it , albeit only slightly.

So based on the media reactions, God is a bore and faith is a farce and certainly not worth being discussed or reported. ?????? They just don't get it, yet.

I saw the exchange over at ELAshley's place. God is indeed a bore and faith is indeed a farce. But as with rodeos, Nascar, ballet, monster trucks, romance novels and chicklit, existential foreign films and similar things I think are a bore and a farce, I am delighted my fellow Americans have activities with which to amuse themselves.
